British people want to either finalise or begin planning the sale of their home before they go on holiday. Many people presume that the summer months in Britain see in a slump in the UK property market but estate agents, Strutt & Parker have found that the period before the peak UK holiday season can be one of the most important in the property calendar. For those Brits with their homes on the market now is the time that they want to get their property deal tied up, before they spend a week or two abroad. According to reports by Strutt & Parker, despite the record rainfall, exchanges across all national offices increased by 20 percent compared to last week, an indication that movers are eager to get the sale of their property wrapped up before they go on holiday. Regarding the increase, Michael Fiddes, Head of Agency, Strutt & Parker said: “The increase in exchanges this week suggests that people are pushing through deals before they go away. “This is not unusual for this time of year with schools recently breaking up and a host of families leaving the UK for their summer holidays.”
